Nau mai, Haere mai,

On behalf of our children, families, the staff and the Board of Trustees, I’d like to warmly welcome you to Upper Hutt School.

In 2014 Upper Hutt School celebrated its 150th Jubilee. We have a long and proud history within the Upper Hutt community.

At Upper Hutt School – every child matters. We deeply believe in our vision that ‘Every Learner Deserves A Positive Future’.
Staff, families and children themselves have high expectations and believe that they can and will be successful learners.

Our community values Upper Hutt School P.R.I.D.E:

  • P artnership / Whakakotahitanga
  • R espect / Manaakitanga
  • I ntergrity / Ngakau Whakapono
  • D etermination / Manawanui
  • E mpathy / Aroha

Our three school principles are C.A.R:

  • C urious
  • A datable
  • R esilient

We know that young people will be well on their way to a positive future if they know and use a P.R.I.D.E C.A.R!

In 2016, a past student of Upper Hutt School created our new school logo. Alongside this logo sits our school whakatauki:

Upper Hutt School has a strong sense of community and school P.R.I.D.E.  You can ‘feel it’ when you walk in our school gates! Here, we all know that it is only when children, families and staff work together, that we will achieve the wellbeing of every child.

I’d like to invite you to come and visit us anytime. Come and meet our children, families and our professional staff that collectively make the Upper Hutt School community.

I feel privileged to be part of this very special school.

Nāku noa, nā
