Kia ora koutou,

My name is Leane Donnelly. I am thrilled to be teaching our Year 4 and 5 students this year! This is my second year at Upper Hutt School; last year, I had a wonderful time teaching the Year 5 and 6 cohort. While I have experience across a wide range of year levels, being part of this community is truly special.

In 2025, my husband Lloyd and I moved back to Upper Hutt from Gisborne to be closer to our whānau. We are incredibly blessed to have six of our grandchildren living right here in Upper Hutt, along with one granddaughter in Christchurch. Our household is rounded out by our cat, Serene—who is anything but! She much prefers sharpening her claws on the furniture to living up to her name.

Outside of the classroom, I’ve recently discovered a love for pottery and enjoy creating practical pieces for our home. I feel very grateful to be part of such an amazing school community and I look forward to connecting with you all throughout the year.
