A Message from Mrs Campbell
Welcome back! We hope you had a fantastic break and are feeling energised for what's sure to be an action-packed and exciting Term 4.
Though the sunshine hasn't fully arrived yet, Term 4 is all about sun protection! We require all students to wear bucket-style or wide-brimmed sunhats outside at school.
Please make sure your child is equipped with an appropriate hat. If you need to purchase one, they are online here with all of our other options.
It’s so great to see our tamariki enjoying being out and about

Sports at Upper Hutt School
We are desperate to have all sports shirts returned to school.
Sports Shirt Amnesty – please return your shirts!
Our incredible Fundraising Team has kick-started our new sports uniform collection with a generous donation of $1,500. We would love for all students to have new shirts for our school teams; however, at this stage, we don’t have enough new shirts for everyone.
With our current order, some teams will receive new shirts and others will continue wearing the older ones. Our goal is to build our stock so that by this time next year, every player will have a new shirt.
There is also an option to purchase your own shirt, which some families have already done.
The next order will be placed soon, but please note that these shirts will not arrive in time for the start of the touch season. To order a shirt, simply email Mel office@upperhuttschool.nz with your child’s name, class room number and size shirt you would like.
Teams will be allocated their shirts on Tuesday the 28th, in time for the first game on 29 October.

Interzone Danish Rounders
Today at Trentham Memorial Park, our Year 5 and 6 Danish Players battled the wind and tough competition but had great fun and proudly demonstrated their PRIDE values. Well done all!

Touch Rugby starts on Wednesday, the 29th of October. All have been informed of their teams, and shirts will be given out before the game on the 29th. We ask for all to wear black (preferably) or dark shorts or tights. As you see above, we are waiting for many shirts to be returned so that we can redistribute these.

Sanitary Items
We would like to remind students and whānau that a supply of sanitary items — including pads and tampons — is available at school. If students need any, they are welcome to speak with their teacher, teacher aide, or our friendly office staff. These items are provided to support student wellbeing and are available as needed, no questions asked.

Breakfast Club
We’re looking for a few extra hands to help with Breakfast Club for Term 4 and into 2026.
It’s a simple but rewarding way to start the day - just 35 minutes one morning a week helping our tamariki with Weet-Bix, toast, and smiles (plus a few dishes!).
No experience needed, just a friendly face and a willingness to help. It’s easy, fun, and makes a real difference in our school community.
If you can spare a little time in the mornings, please get in touch with Claire (claire@upperhuttschool.nz) - we’d love to have you join the team!
As we come to the end of 2025, the Fundraising Team would like to say a huge thank you to all our school whānau for your incredible support throughout the year.
Your contributions - whether through buying, baking, volunteering, or simply showing up - have made a real difference! Thanks to this year’s fundraising efforts, we’ve been able to fund swimming lessons, new PE tops for our school sports teams, and camp for our tamariki.
The team met this week to start planning for 2026, and we’re really excited for what the new year will bring.
Thank you again for helping us make great things happen for our kids!
